MIL-M-45122(Ord)
3.5.2 Cross level vial. - The cross level bubble shall be central within
one-half the amount of space between graduation lines.
3.5.3 Alinement.- With a calibrated Panoramic Telescope M12 type set to
zero azimuth and secured in the mount, the adjusting screws in the telescope
socket shall be adjusted to bring the line of sight parallel to the mounting
surface of the housing. In this position, the locating lug of the panoramic
telescope shall be centered within plus or minus 5 mils of total adjustment.
3.5.3.1 The top surface of the telescope socket shall be in a horizontal
plane within 0.3 roil. (This surface is made horizontal to provide means of
adjusting the level vials in the field.)
3.5.4 Plumb travel.- With
the mount positioned in accordance with 3.5 and
3.5.3 the line of sight of the
telescope shall follow plumb line within 0.5
mil when the vertical travel of
the mount is accomplished by means of the eleva-
tion knob through the limits of
the elevation movement.
3.6 Extension.- The line of sight as obtained in 3.5.3 shall remain paral-
lel to the vertical mounting surface of the housing within 1 mil when the ex-
tension is placed in the socket and the telescope properly mounted.
3.7 Azimuth correction.- With the mount positioned in accordance with 3.5
and 3.5.3, the mount shall correct for azimuth error as a result of elevation
within the tolerances and conditions specified in the following table:
