5.4.4 Strapping. - Metal strapping sha1l be applied on each shipping
container. The type of strapping and the method of applying it shall be as
specified in the applicable container specification.
5.5 Marking.
5.5.1 Interior packages.- Marking of interior packages shall be in
accordance with Standard MIL-STD-129 and Specification MIL-P-116. Each
pocket shall have a tag secured to it containing the following:

Serial No.
The serial number of the mount shaU be included in the identification marking
of each bag containing a socket. Each fiberboard box containing a socket shall
have a caution note added, as follows:

5.5.2 Shipping container.- Each shipping container shall be marked in
accordance with Standard MIL-STD-129. The serial number shall be added in
identification data on a Level A or B shipping container and omitted on a Level
container.
5.5.3 Stock number.- The stock number to be added in the identification
data shall be obtained from the contracting officer.
5.6 Pilot pack.- Prior to quantity production, a pilot pack, consisting
of a complete and packed shipping container, shall be inspected to determine
conformance with the applicable requirements of this specification for Level A.

5.7 Workmanshipp.- Adequate controls shall be utilized to maintain clean
packaging material and to check for contamination of cleaning solvents. Wraps
shall be neat, conforming and firmly secured. Tapes shall be uniformily applied
to interior packages. Shipping containers shall be free of protruding staples,
ails, etc. Strapping shall be applied perpendicular to the sides of the con-
ainer just prior to shipment and shall not cover any container marking.
